What is your service area for in-home consults?
  • Red Bluff, Anderson
  • Redding, Corning, Orland have a small travel fee, which is NOT reimbursed by insurance
    • Other towns on request, may incur a larger travel fee, which is NOT reimbursed by insurance
What are your qualifications?
  • I am currently a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor (CLEC) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I've held my CLEC credential since 12/2019 and IBCLC credential since 1/2022.
    • I am an exclusive pumper with over 5 years of personal pumping experience and have spent the last 4 years counseling other exclusive pumpers on successful pumping to help them meet their lactation goals. Flange sizing is my area of expertise!
What are your fees?
  • Please visit my "SERVICES" page here for more information
What payment methods do you accept?
  • Currently accept credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, etc) via my booking site. Can accept cash when pre-arranged for in-person visits. Will soon be able to accept PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay and HSA&FSA cards.
What health insurance do you accept?
  • I am not currently in network with any providers. You pay me directly and I provide you with an itemized receipt, or superbill, to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How do I know if my health insurance will reimburse me?
  • Contact them and ask! The best way to know what will be covered and reimbursed is to ask directly. The Affordable Care Act says that insurers are required to cover "breastfeeding support, supplies and counseling" with no deductible or co-pay, for every birth.
    • I cannot guarantee that any claim will be reimbursed and I am not responsible for any claims that are denied.
What should I expect during a visit?
  • Whether virtual or in person we will talk about your health history, baby's health history and what has taken place up to this point in terms of feeding and challenges faced. Once we are both on the same page with that information we can move forward with assisting with whatever issue or concern you're facing.
    • If in person, I may do a breast exam and/or an oral exam of baby, if either are needed, and help with latch and positioning. I may be able to conduct a weighted feed if milk transfer or weight gain is a concern. Together we will create a care plan to help meet your goals. You will receive your copy of the care plan within 24 hours of the visit with the goal being that same day.
    • When virtual, I may walk you through an oral exam of baby and self breast exam, if needed. We can observe a breastfeeding session and make positioning and latch adjustments and talk through your concerns. Together we will create a care plan to help meet your goals. You will receive your copy of the care plan within 24 hours of the visit with the goal being that same day.
    • If you are a pumper, we will include a pumping session observation whether in person or virtual. When in person, I can bring additional flange sizes to help find your best fit.
What do I need to do before our visit?
  • Once you have booked your consultation, you will complete your consent forms and health history forms so we can review those and dive right in during our visit.
  • Write down a list of any questions you want to ask or concerns you want to discuss.
  • Try to time feedings of baby so that they will be ready to nurse about 30 minutes after the start time of our visit. This is helpful when the concern may be latching or positioning so that we can see how things are happening currently and make the necessary adjustments. If its not possible, feed the baby! We can work around their feeding schedule the day of our visit.
